THE ROTARY CLUB OF MONTREAL "The Premier Club of Quebec" Meets Tuesdays for Breakfast or Lunch St. James Club, 1145 Union Avenue (South East corner of Rene Levesque) Downtown Montreal |
THE ROTARY CLUB OF MONTREAL (est. 1913) |
Letter from President Nemo Turner (...continued from front page) . . . Scratch below the surface of numerous improvements to the quality of life in Montreal, and you will find Rotary has initiated them. In recent years the Rotary Club of Montreal has worked to establish La Rue des Femmes, a shelter for disadvantaged women. We listen carefully to social workers who make us aware of clients with needs not covered by government funding, and we donate about $25,000 annually in small grants to fill these needs. With our annual Golf Tournament we raise an additional $15,000, which this year will go to help NOVA (formerly the Victorian Order of Nurses), Elizabeth House and St John's Ambulance Canada. Do come visit us, to learn more. We meet at the St. James Club every Tuesday at 7.30 a.m. Please do check with our meetings schedule before planning your visit as the Club may convene at luncheon meetings instead, on special occasions. We would be pleased to talk to you about Rotary and how you, too, may become a member of this international service organization. Nemo Turner President, Rotary Club of Montreal |
